If you have not heard anything about this, it’s because the media is in it’s saddest state in 50 years; but let’s save that for another post…  Recently the 2006 Values Voter Summit was held in Washington DC.  It was an orgy of hate led by a who’s who of douche bags and assholes.  It seems that they are up to their usual tricks again; stating that the most important moral degradation in this country is…..  ready for this….. the GAYS.  My favorite was Wellington Boone, a Bishop commenting on how he wishes the “gays” would be angrier with him…. Now they’re fussing on it, they’re saying a few things, but they don’t have me, you know, in their, you know, on their web sites. They’re not coming at me strong, and I would say this. Back in the days when I was a kid, and we see guys that don’t stand strong on principle, we call them “faggots.” More It is amazing how much hate comes out of the love of Christ, isn’t it?  The thing that bothers me the most is the fact that there were two high ranking Bush administration officials sitting listening to this garbage.  White House Press Secretary Tony Snow and Attorney General Alberto Gonzales attended this debauchery of douchebaggery and have not been criticized once for it.  When Michael Moore or some other Liberal says something a little “iffy” we as Liberals are all lumped into one and confronted by the comments.  Why isn’t anyone in the White House Press Core asking Tony Snow if he hates faggots?

I just read the National Intelligence estimate that was de-classified by GWB today, and found nothing surprising.  What we are doing over there is causing more hatred for the US, and George Bush has lied to the American people every time he has told us we are safer now than before. “We assess that the underlying factors fueling the spread of the movement outweigh its vulnerabilities and are likely to do so for the duration of the timeframe of this Estimate. Jerry Falwell’s recent remarks about Hillary Clinton have stirred me to analyze weather Jesus was in fact a Democrat or a Republican.  Bear with me here but I am going to quote scripture: Mark 10:25 “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” No rich people?  That sounds like Socialism to me.  But like every story I suppose there are two sides.  If you visit www.raptureready.com you will find that Jesus could not have been a Democrat because he would not have allowed gay rights and abortion.  I could go on and on about why Jesus would have been a liberal and anyone who knows anything about who Jesus is said to have been would almost have to agree.  Except gay rights and abortion. I honestly believe that Jesus would have had no problem with gay rights.  He would have wanted all to be treated the same regardless.  Would he have married two men?  Maybe not.  But if you ask most gays you will find that we don’t want religious marriage, just state recognized unions.  On the subject of abortion, it is hard to say.  The bottom line is that Jesus never talked about abortion and neither have any of the Gospels. Either abortion did not exist, or it did, and Jesus chose not to make it a cornerstone of his Philosophy. So, no one can profess to know how Jesus felt about abortion considering this undeniable truth.  Maybe Jesus treated abortion like Bill Clinton treated gays in the military: “Don’t ask, Don’t tell”.

I read an interesting article today, apparently the internet can be used for things not libido related.  It seems that more and more Americans are turning to the internet for informational purposes.  I am glad that these people decided to join us in the 21st century.  A recent poll shows that more people are using the internet to seek election and political news in August 2006 than did in August 2004.  I am not sure if this is exciting or terrifying, either way I hope this means a more intelligent and informed electorate.  (holding back laughter)  Only time will tell.  On a side note, it seems that Indiana is poised to turn more seats over to Dems in November than any other state.  Current polling shows 3 districts may fall into our progressive little hands.  -insert evil laugh-

I know Hugo Chávez is a little “out there”, I know he comes off as a bit crazy, but isn’t he saying what is really on 60% of American’s minds?  He addressed the UN today and started by suggesting a book: Hegemony or Survival: America’s Quest for Global Dominance (The American Empire Project) - by Noam Chomsky.  In reference to this book, he made the following statement: _____ “I think that the first people who should read this book are our brothers and sisters in the United States, because their threat is in their own house. As the spokesman of imperialism, he came to share his nostrums, to try to preserve the current pattern of domination, exploitation and pillage of the peoples of the world. ” _____  Wow, what a firebrand, what a psycho, what a LEFTIST COMMIE PINKO FAG!  Not really.  He is not alone in his beliefs.  Most people in America believe that Bush should see a psychiatrist, I certainly do.  Why is it that GWB can pick and choose what Democracies are good ones and which are a threat to the US?  Mr. Chávez was democratically elected (twice) and has a different idea of how to run his country than Georgie.  One of the first things he did was nationalize the national social security system, holdings in the aluminum industry, and the oil sector.  The idea of taking certain industries out of the hands of the private companies should be used sparingly, but has the ability to help re-distribute wealth from people who don’t need it, to people who do.  What is the problem with that?  To neo-cons, that means you are a Socialist (Capital ‘S’) and in turn a Communist even though they are completely different.  Maybe every American doesn’t need to read Noam Chomsky, but being more informed and constructing your own opinions based on fact, not rhetoric, would be a start. Full Speech Trascrip here

Just when I thought Coups were a thing of the past.  The trick is it has to be aMilitary Coup, and the coup-ee should probably be out of the country at the time.  I don’t have a copy of the GWB’s schedule, but he’s bound to leave the next time he lands on an air craft carrier to announce the invastion of Iran has been accomplished.  Note to self: Now I just need to convince 2,468,289 service people not to let him back into the country…

You know the only good thing about Country music?  Willie Nelson.  I cannot think of one other redeeming quality when it comes to Country music.  Well, our buddy Willie is up to his old tricks again.  The man is 73 years old and apparently still tripping on mushrooms and smoking copious amounts of weed.  Good for him.  If I make it to 73, I want to be stoned out of my gourd 24/7 as well.  The incident occurred in Louisiana where apparently having a $50 sack or 60 POUNDS is treatedthe same.  Go Willie.

Could the next story on CNN be the Vatican being car-bombed?  I hope so.  As you may or may not know, Pope Nazi er.. I mean Benedict XVI recently pissed off every Muslim in the world with some fairly mundane comments on Islam.  Interesting that a former Nazi Youth and current Pope (Benedict XVI) would have a problem with all the bloodshed Islam has created.

Since 1949 nearly every country in the word has been in consensus on how soldiers and their governments should behave, even in the face of war.  Our good friend George Bush would like to go ahead and change America’s level of commitment to these rules.  He seems to be the only one deranged enough to even ask for it.  Republican Senators and even Colin Powell can see that Georgie is off his fucking rocker.  They realize that if we change the way we treat enemies that other nations will probably change the way they treat our soldiers when our soldiers are the ones being captured, declared enemy combatants and stripped of their rights as human beings.  Get Some Facts
